Favorite Quinnie Memory or Story

I really can’t say that I have one specific favorite memory, however a certain week of the year will never be the same without Quinnie. Around the first week of August, for pretty much as long as I can remember, my family and I packed up for our week’s vacation at Eastover. Let me just say that Quinnie was the man at Eastover, everybody knew him, and everybody loved him. At a place called the Tally Ho, where there’s always music playing, Quinnie would always try and get all the girls out on the dance floor, that is if he wasn’t too busy dancing with Mac or Kate. One thing I will never forget is how great of a dancer Quinnie was, especially that infamous “butt-wiping” dance. It was hysterical just watching him out there, with all of us trying to imitate him. If you were around Quinnie, you were going to have a good time, no matter what.

Favorite Quinnie Characteristic

I think my favorite characteristic of Quinnie was how selfless he was. I felt like he always put others before himself, especially his wife and his daughter. Those two girls were his life and if they were happy, he was happy. I know from personal experience about how amazing this man was, whether it was from waking up every time I slept over Kate’s house to egg sandwiches just the way I liked it and hot chocolate, to coaching me in basketball over the summers, or giving advice to me or one of my brothers (which he really loved to do), or having a nickname for anyone and everyone, or just being so honest that you always knew you could always ask a question and get the truth from Quinnie. He was always the life of the party, and a party will never be the same without seeing Quinnie hanging out with all the men on the back porch drinking a Coors Light. I’m pretty sure when I say that if you knew Quinnie, you had to have loved him.

Final Thoughts and Farewell

Quinnie had a smile that just like his daughter, could light up a room. He was a great husband, father, and to me a great friend. I will never forget you.

Quinnie, I love and miss you.

Love always,
Janie-Baby
