Favorite Quinnie Memory or Story

Way too many to get in to. I’ll just list them in bullet points so that when he reads them up in heaven, holding an ice cold Coors Light, he can laugh his head off.

  • The bar fight at O’Neill’s
  • The first time I ever played Golf up at Lake George
  • Poker @Lake George
  • The Not So Newlywed Game at Lake George
  • Charades at Eastover; who could ever forget the Korean Prime Minister, Parease Browme or the Russian
  • Ambassador to the UN, Alexander Hubitchakokoff
  • The “Butt Wash Dance” at Eastover
  • Tally Ho at Eastover
  • Jokes and laughing at Eastover
  • The “Ever See a Naked Steer” story at Eastover
  • The annual Knucklehead Golf Outing

Favorite Quinnie Characteristic

His dedication to the people and things he loved. Mac, Kaitlin, The Quinn Family, The McNally Family; All of his friends from Douglaston/LittleNeck/Reilly/Stonehill/OLV/The Knuckleheads.

He was always fully engaged when he spoke with you. He had a real interest in your life, your job, your family, your health etc. There was never a BS conversation with Quinnie. He listened to you, told you what he thought, argued his points, told you what he thought, let you know he cared, told you what he thought, asked you how you felt … told you what he thought.

I never had a conversation with him where he didn’t tell me how much he loved my kids and adored my family.
Memorable Trips, Events, Occasions, etc.

We became good friends when our families started going away together in 1982. We started in Lake George for a few years with the Mannions, Fallons and Hurleys from 1982 to about 1987. Then all the couples started having kids and everyone went off and did the Disney thing for a few years, separately.

We became great friends at Eastover. My family went up there in 1989 and liked it. The following year we invited the Quinns and they liked it. In 1990 we had 8 people at Eastover. By the mid to late 90’s we had about 65-70 people, all together for a week in the Berkshires.

Final Thoughts and Farewell
